Poulina Group's payment institution offering a mobile wallet and agent services
Licensed in 2023 and admitted to the SIBTEL clearing system in May 2024; we found no public news on the company since then.
Payvago is a mobile payment company and subsidiary of Poulina Group Holding (PGH), the Tunisian industrial group. Managers reported in March 2023 that Poulina planned to launch its own payment institution. According to a company announcement published in August 2023, Payvago has been approved by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) as a payment institution since 2 February 2023, and its mobile payment solution was then fully operational. The announcement listed cash-in and cash-out, merchant payments, bill payments, wallet-to-wallet transfers (agent-assisted or direct) and mobile phone top-ups, with wallets that can be opened remotely. It said its payment services were approved by the Société Monétique Tunisie (SMT) and connected in real time to the national switch. In May 2024 the BCT admitted Payvago, alongside Zitouna Pay, as a participant in the SIBTEL interbank clearing system, which lets it clear transactions with banks directly. Payvago has not published user or transaction figures that we could find, and we found no news about the company after May 2024, so its current activity level is listed as unclear.
