Flouci: Profile of Tunisia's Mobile Wallet and Banking App
Founded as Kaoun in 2018, Flouci has become one of Tunisia's best-known fintech apps, combining a wallet, a bank account opened remotely and merchant payments.
Mobile wallet and app-based partner-bank accounts, plus a merchant payment gateway
Flouci is a Tunisian payments app built by the startup Kaoun, founded in 2018. Kaoun started with remote identity verification for TunTrust electronic signatures before launching Flouci in 2020. In November 2020 Attijari Bank launched an online account and a linked Flouci wallet; BTE launched its own offer through the app in June 2022, connected to the national mobile payment switch. Flouci is not a bank: accounts are held by partner banks, and the company describes itself as a payment facilitator authorised by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT). The app offers accounts with an IBAN, dinar cards, transfers by phone number or QR code, cardless ATM withdrawals, bill payments and top-ups. For merchants, Flouci runs an online payment gateway with plugins for WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Converty, and a native Shopify plugin since June 2026. Monoprix began accepting Flouci QR payments in March 2025, and Orange Tunisie integrated the wallet into its Max It app in April 2025. Forbes Middle East reported 67,000 active users and $91.2 million in processed transactions as of December 2024; in June 2026 the company cited more than 140,000 accounts opened since launch. Forbes Middle East also reported more than $2 million raised from investors including Launch Africa Ventures.
