Mobile payments grew 80.5% in 2025 and new rules allow remote onboarding, but most Tunisian adults still have no account. A look at banks' digital shift.
Digital banking platforms and services for banks, microfinance and insurers
Proxym Group is a Tunisian-founded digital services and software company created in 2006 by Wassel Berrayana, who leads it as chairman and CEO. It builds digital channels and information systems for banks, microfinance institutions, insurers and government bodies. Its main fintech product is Bankerise, a digital banking engagement platform sold through a subsidiary of the same name, with ready-made modules such as retail banking apps that aim to help financial institutions launch services faster and meet regulatory requirements. According to We Are Tech Africa, the group has more than 250 digital consultants in five centres of excellence and works in more than 20 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa; it says it has delivered more than 400 digital projects. The Fintech Times reported customers among banks in France, the Middle East, North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, including Egypt and Tunisia. Berrayana is a regular voice in the Tunisian debate on bank digitalisation; at a February 2025 banking forum in Tunis he said Tunisian institutions lag behind several African peers in digital banking services. Client names and financial figures are not published; the figures above are the company's own.
